This company is ran by 2 greedy, money hungry scumbags. If you read this, please do not go back to them. There are so many other hvac companies that might not be cheaper instantly, but you will safe a TON of money over time
Ayres Hardware, who Climateks shop is at, sells used appliances. They would usually get them from sales and they would be filled with mold and rotted foods. All they would do is use Greased Lightning to remove the visible contaminants and throw it on the sales floor. Discusting, right?
I started at climatek with no experience in hvac. Since I began there, they had me doing stuff that required a great amount of experience, and many times by myself. I was told to not follow many safety rules to try to get the job done quicker, and the bosses would make us cut corners to get done quicker.
From an employees aspect, I was screwed over majorly. I was forced to use my own gas to drive places half the time, without being reimbursed(after I was promised I would be) THEY DID NOT SUPPLY SAFETY GEAR!! And even if they did have gear anywhere, I was never told where it was located at. We did a good amount of roof work and I was never even told to wear safety gear. And what happened because of that? I watched one of my coworkers fall 40 feet onto the sidewalk.
First off, for a customers aspect, they overcharge on everything! Certain employees milk the clock, do as little as possible until it is time to go home. I also overheard that they deliberately damage materials so they get called back to "fix" it.
This is just a brief description of my time at climatek. I could go on for hours about the things I saw while working there.
. I am a former employee for Climatek. I urge every person who reads this to stop doing business with this company!!
I also was never "fired" or released, the boss basically kept telling me to stay home and he will let me know when he needs me. He played that game for 4 whole weeks, basically so I would quit. That was also right after I told him I moved somewhere that he knew I had to pay a decent amount for rent. So I ended up having to bail out of a lease and in return screwed me over.
We did roof work on a commercial roof and while I was up there the other workers would literally kick holes in the roof and tell the stores that they fixed the original leak.
My daughter had Climatek come to her home for a water leak in her central air. They told her she needed a whole new furnace because the person who installed the new furnace the year before put a screw through the drip pan and it could not be fixed. She called me in a panic. I contacted the person who installed the furnace the year before. He came right away and took everything apart in front of me. There was no screw in the drip pan. No hole in the drip pan. The coils in the air unit were dirty and it was not allowing the air to flow through the coils and the water to run into the drip pan. After he cleaned the coils, which I have paid others to service the unit yearly and obviously no one ever cleaned the coils, there was no more water leaks. My daughter called the owner and let him know what his technician had tried to pull. He ask her what she wanted him to do about it. They then sent her a bill for the dishonest service call. I have had others relate the same kind of stories to me. I would beware of hiring Climatek Heating and Cooling.
Climatek here is a great company. I've been here for about 6 months now, and have seen nothing of what that other guy has mentioned. I had no HVAC experience either. but they sure do find things for me to do when theirs not a roof to be done or asphalt to be laid, even if its not gonna make them money. theirs things I do where their paying me out of their pocket just so I don't have to go without a check. I have been with multiple people to help fix and install appliances and none of them milk the time to do it. they always want to get it done quickly and done right. and they do multiple checks to make sure its done right. and for Ayres Hardware the appliances they sell come from a warehouse. none of them are moldy, they may have some food spots but we get them cleaned up very well. almost to new condition. Overall if your a customer I'd recommend this business for service. the prices are not the lowest, but we do our best to get you the best deal around. :)
We did a major remodel this past summer. Added a bedroom, relocated the kitchen and bathroom. Knocked out walls and opened up the entire living space. This was done in phases to accommodate our busy schedules as we were living in the destruction/construction. Climatek completely relocated and replaced all of our plumbing and electric for the kitchen, bath and utility area. They installed our Softener, washer, dryer, hot water heater, shower, vanity and toilet. as well as kitchen garbage disposal, sink and dishwasher. They worked around our schedules and were there when we needed them throughout the summer. Their guys worked in pairs at every visit to speed their work. There was always at least one licensed, experienced worker on the task along with a second apprentice or (sometimes equally knowledgeable) worker that was there to help expedite the job at hand. We experienced nothing other than professionalism from the Climatek crew and would use them again and have recommend them to friends! We love our remodel!! Thank you Climatek!!
